   Loving One Another
Becoming Aware of Who You Are

The quest for consciousness is a timely topic in today’s world. Anne Felt takes a fresh look at the three basic questions facing mankind today: Who am I?  Why am I here?  What is my legacy?  Our unique personal journeys challenge us to understand the meaning of complex situations, relationships, apparent successes, seeming failures, and coincidental events.  These are the primary arenas in which we search for a coherent sense of self in this often confusing world.

Ms. Felt succinctly and masterfully summarizes the elements of personal awakening through the use of stories and metaphors that highlight this universal process.  Taking responsibility for overcoming one’s hurts and obstacles propels the individual beyond the pettiness of everyday life. Conscious awareness of the factors that have influenced the formation of one’s personality, attitudes and beliefs can lead to deeper growth in character, trust, faith, hope and love.  This is the place of emotional intelligence, wholeness and healing.  Ms. Felt teaches the reader the navigational tools for “The River of Life”, the ultimate journey to truth and fulfillment.

Excerpt

. . . Love heals all wounds.  I could not hear this message for so many years.  I had to first learn to listen through the tears, the panic, the lost spaces of depression and lethargy.  The learning to listen and to finally hear through my heart was the turning point as well as the journey.  It took so long to set aside the notions that were so deeply ingrained in my mind:  the negative ideation, the self-doubt, self-recrimination and self-sabotaging patterns.  Through the process of reclaiming my God-self, my higher self, I have healed the old and embraced the newness of this joyous path.  As the scales of armor have fallen away from my battered and lonely heart, I have experienced joy beyond compare.  The peace of this place was unimaginable until I got here.

...It is possible to attain this place of peace from wherever you are.  There is always a perfect starting place directly in front of you.  All that is needed is an honest commitment to step forward and to cross the line.  What is this line?  The line is your picture of yourself and all that is contained in that little box that surrounds you.  This little box is your world - the world according to you.  This is the totality of your experiences and what your mind has decided to make of these events, feelings, thoughts, and reactions.  It is your interpretation of your life.

As feeling and sentient beings we each bring our very own mindsets to bear in all of our experiences.  Even siblings, born of the same parents, born into the same surroundings and the same culture, are all differnet.  Is it birth order?  Temperament?  Genetics?  Personality?  Or could it be that we each walk a path that is highly individualized, innately personal and uniquely our own?  That is the way of the soul's development.  And each soul follows its own calling, striving to find its way to the God-self within.  No one escapes the journey, although some do their best to avoid the call.  Ultimately the call "to thine own self be true" must be heeded.
